The Dev Team have released version 0.9 of their iPhone unlocker Ultrasn0w clearly to spite GeoHot for his Purplesn0w unlock that he released a few days. GeoHot claimed this unlock was much for cleaner and small than the Dev Team’s version and the Dev Team have announced that there new version is  ‘nearly 7000 times smaller than it’s nearest competition (Purplesn0w)’ and they say that GeoHot should ‘ stop dicking around and look at the bootrom instead kthx. =P’. According to Czech iPhone developer PoweryBase, Apple are starting to block push notifications on iPhone’s which have been unlocked with 3rd party unlockers such as Purplesn0w and Ultrasn0w and are using carrier that normally wouldn’t be allowed. A new hack has been released to the wild which allows you to downgrade your iPhone 3G baseband to work with Yellowsn0w. This is relevent to iPhone 3G users who upgraded to 2.2.1 because whilst upgrading, you also updated your baseband disable you from ever unlocking your iPhone using Yellowsn0w again. The iPhone dev team’s 3g unlock, yellowsnow is out. There are some changes in how it works. The 3g unlock will require you to be on baseband 2.28.00 which comes with iPhone OS v2.2. This means that those of you that pwned your iPhone to 2.2 without a full restore will now need to restore to 2.2 directly in iTunes so that your baseband gets updated to 2.28. You can check your baseband version in settings, general, about menu. Look for modem firmware. This is beta.
