Posted by psp2468 March - 31 - 2010 - Wednesday ADD COMMENTS

Apple have released a new version of iTunes with changes include support for iPad syncing and security improvements. Generally, it is safe for jailbreakers as all of Dev Team’s tools, PwnageTool and Redsn0w, still work on it however, GeoHot’s Blackra1n tool no longer works so if you are planning on using that, do not update!

EDIT: There is now a fix for the Blackra1n problem.

Redsn0w 0.9.4 can Jailbreak OS 3.1.3

Posted by psp2468 February - 3 - 2010 - Wednesday 3 COMMENTS

In light of yesterdays new iPhone/iPod Touch firmware release, the Dev Team did some experimenting with Redsn0w 0.9.2 and with a bit of edting made it compatible with OS 3.1.3. This jailbreak works on the majority of devices (the iPod Touch 1st and 2nd gen and the iPhone 2G and 3G) but does not work on the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd generation. In fact, it is STRONGLY recommended that iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd gen users avoid the OS 3.1.3 altogether if they want to jailbreak and unlock their phones/iPods in the future.
