In light of the OS 3.1.3 firmware update that was issued by Apple a couple of days ago, the Dev Team firstly went ahead and released a new version of their muti-OS jailbreaking tool Redsn0w.

Another alternative to the Redsn0w jailbreak for OS 3.1.3 is Sn0wbreeze as iH8sn0w have release a new version of their program to work with OS 3.1.3.
Sn0wbreeze is essentially a Windows port of the Dev Team’s PwnageTool. It allows you to create custom IPSW firmwares (allowing you to maintain your current baseband when updating). Read the rest of this entry »
In light of yesterdays new iPhone/iPod Touch firmware release, the Dev Team did some experimenting with Redsn0w 0.9.2 and with a bit of edting made it compatible with OS 3.1.3. This jailbreak works on the majority of devices (the iPod Touch 1st and 2nd gen and the iPhone 2G and 3G) but does not work on the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd generation.
In fact, it is STRONGLY recommended that iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd gen users avoid the OS 3.1.3 altogether if they want to jailbreak and unlock their phones/iPods in the future. Read the rest of this entry »

The iPhone Dev-Team has finally released RedSnow 0.9, a program that is capable of unlocking and customizing iPhones and iTouches. A beta of a new version of the iPhone/iPod Touch jailbreaking program called Redsn0w created by the Dev Team has been released. This version, version 0.9, brings it up to line with Blackra1n as it is compatible with OS 3.1.2 and all device EXCLUDING the iPod Touch 3rd generation.

iPhoneUnlockUK is a company that utilise the Dev Team’s free to use iPhone unlocker called Ultrasn0w to make money. Despite the license for the program saying that commercial use of the program is prohibited, they still do it and they are not the only one. A lot of the people are wasting their money buying programs like Ultrasn0w when they are publicly available for free.

As we posted yesterday, GeoHot had wanted some help from his followers on Twitter to help him win a competition with a $1000 prize money. In return for winning the competition, he promised he would release the untethered jailbreak. He did not specify which device it was for but it doesn’t matter any more. GeoHot did not win.
