As most of your probably assumed, the Team S4PH jailbreak that was supposed to give iPod Touch 3rd generatoin users the ability to do a untethered jailbreak was indeed a fake. Infact, it was some sort of experiment.
This was a study. Isn’t it amazing how 1 post on ChronicDev’s site lead to 7,987 views yesterday? I find it quite fascinating.

A while back we posted about a new dev team called S4PH who had decided create an untethered jailbreak for the iPod Touch 3rd generation. Currently the only jailbreak for the iPod Touch 3rd generation is with Blackra1n which is a tethered jailbreak (need to plug-it in everytime you reboot) which isn’t good enough for many users.

The creators of the Appuloha1l, ferociousbird and other jailbreaking projects under that umbrella have all been faked! The creator release a supposed video demonstrating the hack it ends up with the usual rick-roll video.
The reason for doing this was apparently to motivate other devs such as GeoHot and the Dev Team to quickly release their jailbreak first because normally, the first jailbreak becomes the more popular one. Read the rest of this entry »
AppuloHa1l, the competitor jailbreak for all the devices INCLUDING A NONE TETHERING JAILBREAK FOR THE IPOD TOUCH 3RD GEN is supposed to come out in the next 5-10 mins hour apparently due to server problems!!
