Sony Mocks the Apple iPhone with Big Boy PSP Games

Apple have always said that the Apple iPhone, backed by the vast collection of games found on the AppStore, will dominate the mobile gaming market. FreePlay Releases PSP Go! Exploit but Patched by Firmware 6.20

FreePlay was the first person to manage to hack the PSP Go. He managed to get a ‘Hello Word’ exploit working on it and he has now finally released it to the world for us to try.

The exploit itself sparked A LOT of debate about whether or not it was real. I’m guessing it was released to try and stop all the arguing. However there is also bad news. Sony heard about the exploit and have patched it in their latest firwmare 6.20. Read the rest of this entry »

Team Typhoon shows off CFW on PSP Go!

pspgohackedTeam Typhoon, the creators of the ChickHEN exploit that has allowed PSP 3000 to use custom firmware, have manged to get their HEN exploit working on the new PSP Go!

MaGiXieN, one of the members of the GENyUS team who create the GEN custom firmwares for the PSP, has come forward and apologized for all the problems created by the 5.50GEN-C custom firmware release. MaGiXieN Supports Freeplay’s PSP Go! Hack – 100% Real

MaGiXieN is a well respected member of the PSPGen.com community. To silence all the doubters of Freeplay’s hack of the PSP Go, he has posted a video demonstrating the hack as well and proving that is a 100% real hack.

As has been explained a few times, the exploit does not (yet) allow access to the kernel which means no CFW as of yet.

YoshiHiro Working on PSP Apps for Playing new Games on Old Firmwares

According to some sources, the PSP coder YoshiHiro is working on and close to completion of an app which allows you to play new games requiring higher firmwares than your PSP has i.e. the Gran Tourismo game requires 6.00 however this app would allow you to play it on 5.00m33 or 5.50GEN-a!
