Name: Nokia N900| Price: $399.99 [Buy it] | Rating: 3/5

The Nokia N900 might be a relatively old phone, but it’s still on sale and it still positions itself in the touchscreen internet-browsing smartphone segment, that same segment that the iPhone, for better or for worse, arguably dominates. How does it fare? Read our review to find out! Read the rest of this entry »

Review: Hercules DJ Control MP3 e2

Posted by kevipapo1 August - 30 - 2010 - Monday ADD COMMENTS

When I’m not being a good student, hanging out with friends, or writing articles here, I’m mixing and producing electronica tracks. It’s probably my favorite hobby. For the past couple of months I’ve been mixing straight off my laptop, using applications like Virtual DJ and Deckadance to do the job. It’s a good place to start, but after a while you become limited by what you can do with keyboard shortcuts and mouse control. When you mix on a computer, you get all the knobs and faders and buttons, but on your display. Your only control is the keyboard and mouse. The mouse will twist, slide, and press all those different things on the display, and you can map keyboard shortcuts to different levels for faders and knobs, or simply to buttons, but after a while you feel limited. At that point it’s time to move up and get a controller. So for a cheap $80 I got the Hercules DJ Control MP3 e2 controller.

Name: Audio Technica ATH-M50| Price: $114.00 [Buy it] | Rating: 5/5

It is only recently that I have become interested in higher end headphones. I used to be one of those people thought that the Apple headphones that come with an iPhone or iPod were sufficient, but then I saw a comment on a forum somewhere saying that people who think the Apple headphones are good enough haven’t heard real sound and are missing out. That made me decide to branch out and try some higher quality speakers. After using many different in-ear models like the Monster Lil Jamz and the Grado iGi‘s,  I wanted to try out some over-the ear speakers. Read the rest of this entry »

The Grado iGi s are one of two in-ear headphones that Grado have to offer. The iGi s are the cheaper out of the two and are sold for $89.99 [Buy it] on Amazon. The headphones are not necessarily the best looking headphones on the market, but boy do they pack a punch! Read the rest of this entry »

Name: iWing SR-HD | Price: CHF 139.99 [Buy it] | Rating: 4.5/5

The Amazilla iWing SR-HD has truly revolutionized the way I listen to music in my room. I had never really been interested in wirelessly streaming music from my iPhone to my speakers because for some reason, I thought the quality would decrease or it wouldn’t work well.  But, I am really glad Amazilla have introduced me to their iWing SR-HD product – allowing you to wirelessly stream music from your iPod to your speakers! Review: Amazilla Rock-It – Portable Vibration Speaker

Posted by psp2468 June - 19 - 2010 - Saturday 1 COMMENT

Name: Rock-It | Price: CHF 38.10 [Buy it] | Rating: 4.5/5

This is definitely one of the coolest gadgets I have ever played with. The Rock-It portable vibration speaker is the brain child of Amazilla and is one hell of a invention. What does it do? Well, when you plug your iPod or iPhone into it, it turns the music into vibrations and sends it through the Rock-it pod which when you stick onto anything, turns it into a speaker. Yup, this turns anything into a speaker! Read the rest of this entry »

Name: Lil’ Jamz in-ear headphones | Price: $79.99 [Buy it] | Rating: 5/5

Monster’s Lil’ Jamz are the cheapest headphones Monster offer, but don’t let the word ‘cheap’ put you off because next to their Studio Beats by Dre which costs $349.95 they may seem cheap, but they still cost $89.95 and are worth every penny! Read the rest of this entry »
