BlindType – An Improved way of Typing on your iDevices

BlindType is a new iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad tweak that is currently in the works hoping to one day be released onto the AppStore (however it is more likely that it will be released in Cydia rather than the AppStore). Some good, or bad, news has been tweeted by Comex. He has announced that he is not going to wait for iOS 4.1 to release his userland untethered jailbreak for all iDevices on iOS 4.0 and iOS 4.0.1, but rather release it before hand and risk having Apple patch the exploit before iOS 4.1 comes out. Apple doing soft SHSH Blobs Checks on old iDevices

MuscleNerd, one of the members of the Dev Team, has posted on his Twitter a link to the latest post on the Dev Team’s website. It turns out that Apple are now doing soft SHSH blobs checks on old iDevices like the iPod Touch 2nd generation and the iPhone 3G. Sherif Hashim was the one who managed to crash the 05.12.01 baseband which eventually led to it being unlocked. Now, he has found out another interesting hack which allows you to activate an iPhone 3G, 3GS or iPhone 4 without the original SIM card that the iPhone is locked to. Read the rest of this entry »

iOS 4.0.1 Released for all iPhones!

Apple have gone ahead and released a new update to the iOS devices. No it’s not the iOS 4.1 that was seeded to developers but is instead version 4.0.1. Included in the change log is that it ‘improves the formula to determine how many bars of signal strength to display.’ So now solution for iPhone 4 users yet!

EDIT: Comex says do not update your iPhone 4 if you are planning on unlocking!

iOS 4.1 Beta Doesn’t Fix iPhone 4 Antenna Problems

Some tests have been conducted on the new iOS 4.1 beta that was released yesterday and unsurprisingly, it does not fix the iPhone 4 antenna problems. Why is this unsuprising? Because tests have  been done on the iPhone 4 and was deemed that the antenna problems aren’t caused by a software problem, but a hardware one. Read the rest of this entry »

Apple Release iOS 4.1 Beta – Jailbreakers Stay Away!

Apple have finally released the first edition of the iOS 4.1 firmware update that was supposed to solve all the iPhone 4 problems that people are suffering. There is no change log for this firmware released but it has been feeded to developers everywhere.

If you care about jailbreaking, do not update to this firmware. Wait for news from the Dev Team before doing anything!

Apple Hosting Press Conference this Friday

Apple is hosting what seems to be a last minute press conference this Friday at their headquarters in good ol’ Cupertino, California. The company has said it will be an iPhone 4 press conference, probably addressing this whole antenna crisis that has been going on for the past number of weeks.

Video: Planetbeing Demoes his iPhone 4 Unlock

Yesterday it was announced that Planetbeing had managed to complete the iPhone 4 unlock that he and the rest of the Dev Team had been working on. Now he has released that above video of him demoing the unlock.

This is an incredible performance of Beyonce’s ‘Sweet Dreams’ song by Yoari and iBand using only iPhones, iPod Touchs and iPads. Definitely worth checking out!
