Review: Opera Mini for the iPhone/iPod Touch

Posted by kevipapo1 April - 14 - 2010 - Wednesday 1 COMMENT

Opera Mini is a popular web browser for mobile phones, and it is supported on almost every platform. As long as your phone has Java, it can probably run Opera Mini. So with Opera available on the Android Marketplace as a beta (and a good beta at that), I can fully underatand why they would bring it to iPhone OS. Now Apple, if you don’t already know, is very picky about accepting apps into their store. They don’t allow apps that are in direct competition with their own, i.e. you can’t put your own media player on the App Store, so I was thoroughly surprised when I heard the fate of Opera Mini on iPhone OS turned out good, and I was very pleased too. And after just a day of use I’m already hooked to it. So I decided I would write this review of Opera Mini on the iPhone using solely my iPod touch and Opera Mini. I hope the formatting turns out ok!

Review: mySMSCounter for the iPhone/iPod Touch

Posted by psp2468 February - 21 - 2010 - Sunday 2 COMMENTS

One of the feature lacking in the SMS application on the iPhone is a little notifier showing you how many characters you have left before you SMS goes over 140 characters and therefore the message is split into two SMS and you have to pay more. I like to know when the limit is near and that’s exactly what mySMSCounter [Buy it] does. Read the rest of this entry »

Name: DoodleJump | Price: $0.99 [Buy it] | Rating: 5/5

Doodlejump is my new favorite game. I would describe it as a revamped, much improved and much more addicting version of PapiJump [Buy it]. It has the same basic concept of trying to get as high as possible but there are many extras such as enemies, jet packs, springy boots and black holes.

I think it’s full name of Doodle Jump – BE WARNED: Insanely Addictive! [Buy it] suits it perfectly.

Boost 3D [iTunes] is a potential replacement for the iCopter [iTunes] & CubeRunner [iTunes] games for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It has the same basic idea of going through a course for as long as possible but it does it in a much more aesthetically pleasing way.

The Boost 3D game is played in a galactical 3D tunnel which you fly through. You have to roll through it avoiding different obstacles and try to last as long as possible. Read the rest of this entry »
