AllTechRelated is always looking for new products to review, so when Macally contacted us wondering if we wanted to review any of their products, naturally we accepted. Today, we bring you the review of the Case and Stand for the iPhone 4 by Macally.
When you first open up the box, what you will find is the case itself, a provided ‘sticky swipe’ (which I will comment on later in the review) and a brochure /advertisement booklet in the shape of the iPhone 4 that promotes other products by Macally.

The Case:
This case is unlike any other case I have used on my iPhone 4 to date. The KickStand iPhone case is a uniquely designed case with an adjustable built in stand to hold the iPhone at a desired angle when horizontal. The case itself is a protective snap on case that covers and protects the back of your iPhone 4 more than its does the front. The back of the phone is completely covered by the case however only the top four corners of the front is protected. The case feels great in your hand and looks great from all angles, what else could you really ask for?!
Protection:
This case is not designed to be rugged or built to withstand unusual amounts of force and pressure. It easily provides more than enough protection when used as an everyday case. The entire back of the iPhone will be covered by the case, this will prevent any scratches and smudges to the glass back of the phone. The front of the phone and the sides are not completely covered by the case itself. The parts that are covered are the four corners of the phone. This may seem and feel like it doesn’t provide much protection, however after analysing the case, I realised that the covering of the four corners actually raises the phone off of a surface when ever it is faced down on a table or any flat surface for that fact. This will decrease chances of any scratches to the iPhone. For more protection, I would recommend using a screen protector as well as this case. Macally also have a couple of screen overlays and protectors that can be seen on their web site.
The Look/Feel:
The case is sleek, sophisticated and most indefinitely compliments the phone. The case itself is a matte black material that has a rubberised surface for grip. Even though the case has a rubberized surface the first touch and real feel of the case you get is very smooth and comfortable, but the case provides enough grip so that you don’t drop the phone. It’s quite extraordinary that something so smooth can provide that much grip.
Extras
A few little extra things that I would like to put out to you readers is that the case also comes with a ‘sticky swipe’. I haven’t seen any other cases that have a swipe come with them such as this one. The swipe itself is very effective and is the icing on the cake is that it sticks to the back of your case! This provides an easy and safe way to clean your screen when ever the need to.

Another little extra that I discovered was that the stand acts as a very useful tool to stabilize and keep the phone level when trying to take a picture. If you hold the device vertically and put the stand between your middle and index finger, it acts as a type of extension of the phone. Personally I find it very useful and effective.
Overall:
As previously stated, the case is unique as it has a stand that allows you to place the device horizontally on a surface hand free, and allows you to change the angle of the device as well. I must say that the people that would benefit the most from this case would be regular travellers that watch a lot of movies or play quite a few games such as solitaire (games that don’t necessarily require you to hold the device.) The feel is great, the little bonuses provide other incentives to get the case, I would rate it a good 4/5. (I base my decision on the fact that the case is great for everyday use, but the people that would benefit most would be travellers or games etc.)
