Red. has put together a great information post which explains to all the iDevice users out there which features exactly each of the different iDevice’s will be and won’t be getting when the new iOS 4.0 comes out.
What devices aren’t supported by 4.0, period
- iPhone First Generation (EDGE)
- iPod Touch First Generation
Devices supported by 4.0 and what they are receiving.
- iPhone 4
- All of 4.0 features obviously. Plus the exclusive to the iPhone 4 like FaceTime(Video Chatting) and HD Video recording.
- iPhone 3G[S]
- All of 4.0 features as well with Multitasking, Homescreen wallpapers, Folders, organized mail, iBooks, Tap to focus video, Camera Zoom, Game Center, etc.
- iPhone 3G
- Most of 4.0 features Including Game Center, iBooks, Camera Zoom, and the above mentioned. minus multitasking and Homescreen Wallpapers.
- iPod Touch 2G(Late 2008) (8GB MC included)
- Same as the iPhone 3G but no springboard backgrounds. Just homescreen. And Wallpaper field left blank in settings (Until Images are synced or downloaded.)
- iPod Touch 3G(Late 2009) (32GB and 64GB)
- Everything the 3GS is getting minus the Camera and Phone feautures. (Multitasking Included)
