How to Jailbreak your Device with Sn0wyBreeze

Sn0wbreeze, a program which is a Windows port of PwnageTool, which is created by iH8sn0w has been released. This allows you to create custom IPSW (iPhone/iPod Touch firmware) files with of course Cydia, custom boot loaders and even Verbose Mode.

Here is a guide demonstrating how to create a custom IPSW file using Sn0wybreeze.

Remember, the program is in BETA. We do not take any responsibility if anything goes wrong whilst using it.

The application actually has a EXPERT and SIMPLE mode. At the moment, the expert mode is disabled until he completes it. The full version of Sn0wybreeze will be released on Monday.

How to use Sn0wyBreeze:

Step 1:

Download all the files in the above list and sync you iPhone/iPod Touch to backup it’s data. If you need to backup your Music/Videos, use CopyTrans.

Step 2:

Extract the Sn0wbreeze.zip file and open the .exe file included.

Click on the arrow at the bottom right to continue.

Step 3:

You will be greeted with this menu:

As Expert mode is disabled, click on Simple Mode and then click on the arrow at the bottom right.

Step 4:

It now wants you to select the firmware file that you are going to install on your device. It must be firmware OS 3.1.2 and make sure it is for the device that you have.

Click on BROWSE and navigate to the .IPSW firmware file on your computer and click on it. Click on Next.

Step 5:

OnĀ  the next screen, this menu should come up asking you if you want Sn0wybreeze to activate your iPhone or not.

If you want to use an unofficial carrier on your iPhone, click on YES. If you want to use a official carrier (AT&T) then you can click on NO.

Step 6:

Click on the start button, the program will start building the custom firmware for you.

Once it’s complete, this menu will show up.

Step 7:

Now you need to restore you device using the custom IPSW file. To do this, go to iTunes and navigate to your devices menu.

Then, do SHIFT+Restore button and select the custom firmware you created. You device should now install in the custom firmware. Once it is complete, you will have a newly jailbroken device.
