“Most of the widgets are hosted on our APT repository”
yeah right, that’s: calculator, clock, notes, and the devteam rss
all the other widgets on the list are not in there, nor is there a link to where you can find them…
without any of those 4 widgets installed (I’m on the lite version), the only thing that physically happens is that I lost my music controls on the lock screen…
I guess the lite version only has support for those widgets.
but that doesn’t explain why there are only those 4 widgets in the repo?
also: to get your old lockscreen’s functionality back you will need to install the clock and the music player widget (if there was any), which only leaves one more widget to install before you max out…
Here is there email: support@media-phone.ch
Send them and email as see what they say. Please report back if you get an answer though
ok, so I did write them an email yesterday, and got a reply today

my questions:
- on your site it says: “Most of the widgets are hosted on our APT
repository”.
your site shows 15 widgets, but only 4 widgets are in the repo.
will the other 11 show up soon too?
- when you install smartscreen, all old functionality of the lockscreen
disappears.
meaning: the clock and the music player.
the clock can be installed as a widget, but when will we have music player
functionality again?
- if the music player appears as a widget, that will mean that to have the
old functionality back,
I will need to install both the clock and the music widget, leaving me with
only one additional widget before my three free widgets for the lite version
are all used up. so basically the lite version only comes with ONE free
widget. maybe you could add a widget or two to the lite version?
- on the screenshots on the website are clearly a couple of widgets that are
not in the repo or the list, will they be added soon?
I am talking about the music widget and the 3G/edge/WiFi/Bluetooth toggle.
- I have only the clock widget installed now, but the bottom half of the
letters of the date are missing,
it almost looks like it is in a container that is too small?
I tried picking a smaller font for the clock, but that doesn’t seem to help.
is there a fix coming soon?

the reply:
Hello,
1. For music widget and the 3G/edge/WiFi/Bluetooth toggle double-tap Home button.
2. For Clock Widgets – in preferences of widget try to activate function – Double size.
3. Additional widgets will be release later.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
about his answers:
1. double tapping the Home button doesn’t do anything for me, and in the phone’s settings I even tried resetting it to default behaviour. so no music widget, no toggle.
2. I did change he clock function “double size”, didn’t help either.
3. “later” seems a little vague to me
Thank you for keeping us updated
the double size clock function suddenly worked now…
and I got an immediate reply to the other question:
I’m sorry. Control Screen is only available in Full Version.
About Clock widget: try to move Offset slider in widget preferences.
so it seems that if you want any of the normal lockscreen functionality back, you will need to pay for the full version.
eric.
What happens if you uninstall it? Does it go back to normal?
yes, so that is what I did.
it just feels silly to pay 5 dollar just to get my music player back, something that should be there by default. especially since the other widgets are free.
a simple uninstall and I can listen to music on the go again
ok, so it seems that the widgets are starting to roll out (twitfeed, weatherfeed)
both widgets cost $1.99, but there is no mention in cydia that they are not free (the font is black, not blue). when you add that to the $5 to get your original lockscreen functionality back (music controls), this application is turning out to be rather expensive.
intelliscreen: $9.99
lockscreen info: $4.99 (my fave so far)
smartscreen: $4.99, adding widgets skyrockets the price quickly
quickwidgets: free, but you’ll need to buy quickapps for $14.95
cydget: free, widgets also free (!!) (I love how he facebook app actually shows your newsfeed, not so good that it doesn’t fit on the screen though)
for now I am just going to wait until element comes out.
it won’t be free, expected price-tag: $4-$5, but it looks nice clean and stable. I only wish I could be a beta tester for that, or maybe a reviewer (time to start my own blog?)
Ya Element really does look awesome. Do you know when it’s coming?
http://twitter.com/teehanlax has the latest news.
Ah ok. Thank you for the link.
I would also like to thank you for being a frequent contributor to the website. We really appreciate it ~ Staff
