New Team Tackling the iPod Touch 3rd Generation Tethered Jailbreak Problem

A new developer team has sprung up under the name ‘Team S4PH’ and have announced that they have cracked the jailbreaking problem with the iPod Touch 3rd generation and new iPhone 3GS (with iboot-359.3.2) . Up until now, with the use of Blackra1n, users can jailbreak their devices except only a ‘tethered’ jailbreaking meaning they have to have their device plugged in each reboot.

We’ll, this new team have claimed they have cracked the code!

However, there is a set-back. Out of 100 attempts with their jailbreak only 25 are succesful (25% success rate). This is not good enough for them so before releasing it, they are going to improve the jailbreak and try and it get the success rate closer to 100%.

The team consists of 4 members:

Thanks for your support everyone (so far). I think it’s time to address our current team members. We all come from a small town in British Columbia, Canada and went to school together. So let’s get started.

S4ph: I am the founder of our team. Though I am not the ‘brains’ of the team (we’ll get to that later) I am the one who has found our main loophole.

g3k0: Self-proclaimed “chief programmer”, he’s the one who put the loopholes to good use. He’s very informational and will be on here from time to time to address any questions.

Prodigy333: Assisting g3k0 in programming our jailbreak, he is also the one who tests the most. He works in an office and doesn’t have much time to spare, however he’s testing the program every chance he gets.

lunaa: Last but not least, lunaa is a female. Yes, a female. Her main priorities are to program & test like everyone else, but she also is our main graphics artist. Her talents are amazing and you should be seeing some of her work on the site soon to “pretty it up” as she would say.

And there you have it, 4 nerds working on a jailbreak. I am not surprised at the “fake” comments and won’t be censoring any of them, as I too would be claiming this to be fake. It’s just one of those ‘too good to be true’ things, am I right? Anyway, I will be back to address any questions or comments you might have, so please feel free to ask.

The reason you haven’t heard of them before is that they believe that announcing that they are working on the jailbreak before they have anything to show for it is wrong and is only trying to get publicity for the group. Therefore, they have been developing in secret:

You haven’t heard of us before. In fact, no one but ourselves have. This is because we have chosen to keep ourselves confidential… until now.

Here for the iPod jailbreaking community, we’ve finally become confident enough in ourselves to show everyone what we’ve been working on… a non-tethered jailbreak for the iPod Touch 3G and iPhone 3GS.

Our program is currently under “testing phase 1″. Out of 100 attempts, our success rate is about 25%. Keep in mind, this is only phase 1 so we’re still working out the flaws. We expect to be releasing it in about a month or less hopefully, but this is not guaranteed; it simply relies on our success rate.
