Here’s one for all the movie lovers out there. This is the review of an interesting application called Movie Mistakes which points out all the mistakes in movies that were missed by the editors in the final cut.
It has mistakes for over 6,000 different movies and has a total of 80,000 different mistakes including visible crew and equipment, plot mistakes, continuity and factual errors in all the different movies.
Features:
The app is chock full of helpful features to help users find mistakes in the movies that they want. The app offers a search and allows you to browse through their whole library of movies by year or by first letter.
There is also the featured where they have placed hit movies as they assume that these will the ones that are most popular such as Titanic, Harry Potter 6 and Twilight.
You can also ‘favorite’ your favorite mistakes that you stumble across whilst browsing through this application’s library. This is also a helpful way of bookmarking the mistakes for a later date.
The UI:
The app itself is very well made in my opinion. It takes a couple of seconds to load at the beginning but with the amount of data it has to load (80,000 different mistakes) that does not surprise me.
On the featured page, it gives that name of movie plus the year that it was created which is helpful and the amount of mistakes made in the movie.
Once you are on a mistake, you can swipe from right-left on your devices screen to switch to the next one.
Conclusion:
This application is great for movie lovers and non-movie lovers alike. I am not a particular movie nut and find this app a very interesting one and have already spent time on it looking through mistakes on my favorite movies.
It is actually surprising the amount of mistakes that they creator have missed in the movie.
Overall the app is a great one and a must try for all and as the mistakes do not need to be download through wifi or 3G but are stored in the app itself, it is suitable for BOTH the iPod Touch and iPhone.
Buy it:
You can buy the app on the AppStore for only $0.99 [iTunes Link]
