Sorin Ionescu is an iPhone users who hates jailbreaking. He doesn’t like Cydia as he finds it buggy, ugly and promotes jailbroken apps which he believes tend to mess up your device and cause the need to restore. And yet, he needs to unlock his device.
So, he has come up with the solution. Creamsn0w is an iPhone unlockers except it does it without install Cydia, Icy or any of the unneccasry files that other jailbreaking tools install on your device.
Cydia and Icy will not be installed. No visible modifications can be seen. The iPhone will behave like an official unlocked phone even though it is not. It is safe to take it into the Apple store. Their employees will not be able to detect that it is jailbroken and unlocked from just looking at it. Just do not let them restore it. You will not lose your warranty. I thank the iPhone Dev Team for creating PwnageTool and ultrasn0w. I also thank Saurik for Mobile Substrate.
CreamSn0w will always use the latest Mobile Substrate and ultrasn0w available at the time of release. Unfortunately, it is Mac only; there is currently no Windows solution. But, a firmware created with PwnageTool on Mac can and should be shared.

PwnageTool Installation Instructions
- Unzip creamsn0w.zip
- Place iPhone carrier support IPCC files in addons. Simple DEB packages (no scripts) and manually processed extracted DEB packages in ZIP format are also supported.
- Double-click install.
- Launch PwnageTool.
- In ‘Expert mode’, under ‘Custom packages’ deselect
Cydia and Icy. Select ‘creamsn0w’.
- Unzip creamsn0w.zip
- Place iPhone carrier support IPCC files in addons. Simple DEB packages (no scripts) and manually processed extracted DEB packages in ZIP format are also supported.
- Double-click install.
- Launch redsn0w.
- Deselect Cydia. Select ‘Icy’.

- Double-click uninstall.
