GeoHot now has the job of finding the next unlock for the iPhone due to being paid $10,000 as support to ‘persuade’ him to find the unlock.
This will be the unlock for iPhone users with the 05.11.17 baseband and he estimates that finding the hole for the unlock will only take one day. However, then there the time to make is useable for all the community.
Who would pay that much for an unlock you say? Well, his name is Jody Sanders and he’s infamous for selling the Dev team’s unlock and making a lot from it. Naturally, it is in his interest for GeoHot to find the next unlock to be able to do it all over again.
However despite being discreetly ‘bribed’ will it be enough to convince him that he shouldn’t let his lawyers on Jody once he starts selling the unlock? As GeoHot has stated on his website, for the Blackra1n jailbreaking tool:
If I catch anyone selling this, I’ll sic my lawyers on you faster than it takes to jailbreak.
However GeoHot says it was the 10K that convinced him to start searching for the unlock. He claims that he was going to anyways.
