Sony has released some very bad news for older PSP owners who were planning on updating to the new device, the PSP Go!
They have apparently scrapped the UMD goodwill service meaning that you will no longer be able to transfer the game on a UMD to the memorystick of the PSP Go!
According to Sony spokesmen:
We were evaluating a UMD conversion program, but due to legal and technical reasons we will not be offering the program at this time.
From the remark, there is still a small glimmer of hope that it wont be cancelled but to be honest, we need to assume the worst.
Naturally people who start with buying the PSP Go! wont be affected and the people who live in Europe have it slightly easier due to the fact that Sony have a promotion going on where if you own and old PSP and buy the new PSP Go! you get 3 free games.
