We recently received, courtesy of Grado, a pair of their Prestige Series SR60i headphones for review. They are over-the-ear headphones costing $79.99 on Amazon.com. Here is what bmt123 had to say about them.
We recently received, courtesy of Grado, a pair of their Prestige Series SR60i s. Personally, i’ve never been a fan of over-the-ear headphones, until now! Lets start with how they feel to wear. They are very comfortable to wear, simply resting on your ear, without enveloping them too much. The slightly retro styling is also quite cool, meaning you will certainly stand out when you wear them, although this may not be everyone’s cup of tea. However, your friends will be shocked when they ask to try these retro styled headphones, and discover their supreme sound quality which wouldn’t be expected from “old†headphones!
Supreme is indeed a very strong word, but for this price (and even in comparison to more expensive headphones,) the sound quality is outstanding. Everything sounds crystal clear, and the bass is not too strong as it is on some headphones, so the subtler tones are not drowned out by those lower frequencies. However, these headphones do come with a VERY thick cable making us assume that these headphones are intended for studios rather than everyday use. This may put off some, but not me.
On a practical note, the headphones can be folded flat, so that they take less place if being transported for example. One thing to be aware of however, is that due to their open air design, sound does leak out quite a lot. This means that they may not be the perfect headphones for using in quiet environment, however they’d be perfect for savouring music in almost any other environment.
Grado’s SR60i headphones offer everything you could want in a pair of headphones – comfort and stunning sound quality, and all this for an amazing price! For this reason, there’s nothing left to do but award these headphones a very well deserved 5/5 rating!
The Grado SR60i headphones are available on Amazon for only 79$. Huge thanks again to Grado for supplying us with a review set!

Oooooh, sounds great.
