A new type of app has sprung up onto the AppStore which only works for the iPhone 3GS. It is a metal detector app that only works on the iPhone 3GS.
It uses the electronic compass within the device to detect ferocious metals such as iron and steel.
Here are two of the metal detectors on the AppStore, one being free and the other being $0.99:
