Bookr v0.8 Released – eBook Reader for PSP

A new version of Bookr has been released, a eBook reader for your PSP. This app allows you to view plain text, PDF, CHM, and HTML files.

The official changelog:

Uses internal Internet Browser to display CHM/HTML files.
Can convert Vietnamese HTML content to display on Internet Browser (which at the moment does not support Vietnamese Codepage)
Uses swap button correctly

How to install:

Just copy the folder over to /PSP/Game folder.

i downloaled bookr v0.8 exactly as instructed,but i was unable to install on my psp,it said data was corrupted.help

I had the same problem. you must go into the bookr folder that you extracted until you find another bookr folder and copy that into /psp/games folder it should work.

I have an error “The game could not be started (800020148)” on PSP3000
Why? Does my psp need to be hacked to run the Bookr?

Ya it does need to be hacked. If you are own firwmare 5.03, you can use ChickHEN to use homebrew on it: http://blog.alltechrelated.com/2009/05/07/chickhen-homebrew-enabler-v2-released-now-supports-homebrew/

HI my PSP3000 has firmware of 5.03 m33 and bookr running ok but when I try to view PDF file on it, It show me 1st to 3rd page then hang,.

My PDF file quite big, lot of pages, 400 pages to be exact and has a lot of images inside,

Is my PDF size cause the hanging?
Is too many image cause it?
do I got the right Version bookr v0.8?
Is my PDF file should be on the same verion of my Bookr?

Is bookr complicting to Game that is instal on the same folder for PSP/Games?

by the way I'm also able to play games on it via memory stick, I'm also thingking that "Is the game

why i cant i see my ebook on bookr it says erro in page 1 : ioerror in dctd: not a jpeg file: starts with 0×21 0×30 it says that on every pape why is that can some one pleas tell me wat i have to do to fix this n see me ebook

Ok peeps this is geting realy anoying! I have followed all the instructions on installing the bookr on my daughters psp for her, yes i have even went to the base file and copied the files direct from there. I still have the issue of it saying data corrupt! I am runing vrs5.50 ! do i need a downgrade? What downgrade is recomended? Please help ! I am also haveing the same issue with all of the Homebrew downloads!

All right. This is how it worked for me step by step. I have a 5.03 PSP version & have cracked my PSP via Chickhen
1. Download the torrent for version 8.1 (fixed the big file issue) of Bookr from piratebay.org
2. connected the memory card to the pc.
3. Copied the folder Bookr (Downloaded via torrent, now unzipped) from 2 folders inside of the main Bookr folder to my memory card.
4. Copied all the pdf files in the main Bookr folder.
5. Switched to the Chicken mode first.
6. Accessed the last game displaying Bookr. Thats it. It works.
