LIfehackers have posted a very interesting post that is a guide on a free equivilant to Apple MobileMe push email, calander and contacts.

“One of the coolest features available in the new iPhone 2.0 software update is the ability to get new email messages, contacts, and calendar events pushed to your device automatically. The catch: If you don’t want to shell out $100 for MobileMe and you don’t have a Microsoft Exchange server lying around, you’re stuck pulling data or manually syncing it to your computer. But, if you’re willing to roll up your sleeves, you can set up push email and wireless contact and calendar syncing using the free Microsoft Exchange service Mail2Web. Read the rest of this entry »

A tweak has been released on Cydia that allows you to enable the EMOJi smiley things on your iPod Touch.

To enable it once you have downloaded it, go to settings -> international –> Japanease –> Enable EMOji

Podcasts, Podcasts, Podcasts! – Part 1

http://www.fam.tuwien.ac.at/public/press/20061011_files/podcast.pngHave you heard of podcasts? Well you probably have, seeing as your reading a technology blog… But for that 0.001% of our readers who havn’t, they’re basically internet radio shows that you can subscribe to. Once subscribed, you can have them downloaded and put onto your mp3 player automatically daily, weekly or whenever they are published.

Just one note – you do not need an iPod to enjoy podcasts! Just cause Apple have the whole “insert vowel here”Pod thing going on, they are not the only way to listen.

Anyway, so now if you didnt know about podcasts you know a bit, and if you already did your probably bored. But don’t dispair, this post may still have something for you in it! Read the rest of this entry »
